What classes should I take to enter the program?

If you are in high school and considering the art program at Mount Mercy, you should have a strong interest and work ethic in art. Courses in art at the high school level are recommended, especially drawing and design. Although the art department does not have specific prerequisites, the College does recommend the following classes:

• English, four years including literature
• Mathematics, two or more years including algebra, algebra II and geometry
• Social Studies, three or more years including American and European history
• Science, two or more years of a laboratory science
• Foreign language, two or more years
