We offer students small classes in high-tech facilities taught by full-time teaching faculty, giving each student personalized attention. A low student-to-instructor ratio and flexible scheduling options enable students to complete their education in four years. Internship opportunities and community business partnerships give students the opportunity to acquire real-world experience while attending classes full-time.

The business program at Mount Mercy includes majors in accounting, marketing, management and interdisciplinary studies with minors in accounting, business, economics and finance. An accounting major develops the ability to compile financial statements and analyze complex data while becoming proficient in relevant computer applications. The management major prepares students for a leadership career in managing organizations and individuals, while the marketing major prepares for introductory and future marketing positions in an evolving, wide-ranging field.

Several pre-structured interdisciplinary majors, combining business with another discipline are available, giving the option of a broad-based major dealing with at least two areas of concentration. The number of hours required by these majors is substantially less than needed to double major in the same areas. All students are required to complete the business component of the major and the required coursework in a companion-area component of their choice.

Mount Mercy College offers you the opportunity to apply your skills in organizations outside the classroom. The Mount Mercy Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) student leaders volunteered more than 1,300 hours and empowered more than 2,900 people in the local area this year alone. Students blend their knowledge and hands-on classroom experience to teach the skills needed to succeed in our free enterprise system to a wide array of individuals ranging in age from kindergartners to the Sisters of Mercy.

Mount Mercy's Investments Club offers you the valuable experience of selecting investments in a real-world setting. The club's learning opportunities include interaction with speakers from throughout the investment community which will help to construct a network of valuable business contacts. The club serves as yet another avenue from which you will enhance your classroom education with real and practical experience.
