What classes should I take to enter the program?

If you are in high school and considering one of the computer-related programs at Mount Mercy, you should have a strong interest in mathematics. A minimum of three years of high school math, including courses in pre-calculus and calculus, are recommended. If your school offers them, classes like programming in C, C++, and Java will help.

The College also recommends the following classes:

  • English, four years including literature
  • Social studies, three or more years including American and European history
  • Science, two or more years of a laboratory science
  • Foreign language, two or more years
Please see the admission section of our current college catalog (pdf) for more information about requirements and admission procedures.
