What classes should I take to enter the program?

The criminal justice department does not have specific prerequisites, but suggests government and writing classes.
Mount Mercy recommends several classes to prepare for college academics:

  • English, four years
  • Mathematics, two or more years including algebra, algebra II and statistics
  • Social Studies, three or more years including American and European history
  • Science, two or more years of a laboratory science
  • Foreign language (preferably Spanish), two or more years
