Graduating
students, please communicate this Commencement information to
your family and guests. The college will not send this information
to them.
Applying
for Graduation
Students must fill out and submit to the Registrar's
Office the Application
for Graduation (pdf). It is recommended that the student
submit the application form with his or her registration for the
final year of study. However, graduation applications can be submitted
up to August 1 for the upcoming year. Only after application for
graduation has been made can the Registrar's Office begin processing
the necessary information for final certification of graduation.
Candidates must apply for graduation to initiate the final evaluation
of their academic records, to place their names in the graduation
book and on the final list for cap and gown order, and to begin
the exiting process with the Financial Aid Office.
Students who
fail to complete all degree requirements by the graduation date
for which they applied to graduate may be required to re-apply
for graduation.

at 10 a.m. at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids. Click

Mount Mercy
College grants degrees at the end of each fall, winter, spring,
and summer terms (see graduation dates above). The Commencement
ceremony is held in May to recognize students completing degrees
throughout the year.

date. Students need to have completed course requirements or be
registered in the final course requirements to be approved to
participate in the ceremony.
The Business
Office would like to remind all graduating seniors that their
college bill must be paid in full in order to participate in the
Commencement ceremony.
Information
packets about Commencement activities, including forms to order
caps and gowns, are sent by the bookstore to eligible students.
December and January candidates will be sent their packets in
November, and all other candidates will receive their packets
in January. Participants can contact the Bookstore (319-368-6461)
to order Commencement apparel. There is no additional charge for
the Commencement apparel.
On Saturday,
May 10, 2008, one week before the ceremony, there will be a mandatory
Commencement rehearsal for all ceremony participants at 10 a.m.
in the McAuley Theater. At this time, you will receive your cap
and gown; please try on your gown prior to Commencement to ensure
