What classes should I take to enter the program?

Although the political science department does not have specific prerequisites, they suggest the following if available:

  • American government
  • Current issues
  • Global economics
  • European, Far Eastern and Middle Eastern history and politics
Also, Mount Mercy recommends several classes to prepare for your college experience:
  • English, four years including literature
  • Mathematics, two or more years including algebra, algebra II and geometry
  • Social studies, three or more years including American and European history
  • Science, two or more years of a laboratory science
  • Foreign language, two or more years
