Financial aid consists of two types of assistance: gift aid and self-help aid. Gift aid is in the form of scholarships, grants, and awards that do not need to be repaid. The sources of gift aid are Mount Mercy College, the federal government, the State of Iowa, and private donors. Self-help aid refers to student employment and loans. A student assisted by employment must work a specific number of hours in order to receive the aid. Loans will need to be repaid.
