What
is Mount Mercy's Annual Fund?
Consisting of gifts received from alumni, parents, friends, corporations
and foundations, the Annual Fund supports Mount Mercy's current
expenses for educational programs and operations. All gifts for
current operations, unrestricted and restricted, for current operations
are part of the Annual Fund.
What
does the Annual Fund pay for?
Last year, donor support of the Annual Fund impacted the lives
of Mount Mercy
students:
- Scholarships
helped hundreds of students realize their education dreams.
- Gifts for
equipment enhanced academic programs.
- Improvements
to campus kept Mount Mercy a beautiful setting for learning
and living.
- Technology
updates provided the tools to prepare students for the workplace.
Gifts
to the Annual Fund:
Gifts to the annual fund make a difference everyday and immediately
impact on the lives of our students. These same student go on
and make a difference in their communities, schools, churches
and the world.
Return
the favor:
It costs $50.52 to run the college for one minute. Perhaps you
never realized the cost to keep the lights on or to heat campus
during the winter winds on Mount Mercy's hill. Maybe you just
took it for granted that there would be professors for the classes
you needed. Unfortunately, tuition only pays a portion of college
expenses. The generosity of others helped keep tuition down when
you were a student. Today's students rely on alumni and friends
like you to do the same for them.
It's

in the lives of Mount Mercy students represents one vote in the
eyes of foundations that award large grants for programs and buildings.
Your continuing support raises our giving percentage and confrims
that Mount Mercy is a wise investment for these granting institutions.

providing an excellent education, and that makes your diploma
even more valuable!
You
choose where your money will work for Mount Mercy students:
Give
a Named Scholarship to benefit a student. Your $500 gift entitles
you to name the scholarship and specify the major. You receive
a picture/thank you from your student in the fall for which
your scholarship is awarded. Or, designate you gift of any size
for the scholarship fund. - Give a
library resource gift. A gift of as little as $50 will put your
name or that of a loved one on a bookplate in a new book. Or
make a gift of any size for library resources and help our collection
and subscriptions to online resources grow.
- Choose
your favorite major and select an item to support that major
or designate your gift to benefit a particular department.
- Honor a
family member or friend with an “In Honor of” or
“Memorial Gift” of any size, designated for your
choice of department or project. Your gift will be acknowledged
to the individual or family.
- Too hard
to choose? Give a gift for greatest need and the college will
put your gift to work wherever it's needed.

fiscal year is July 1-June 30. Gifts within this time frame
are listed in the Report to Investors issue of Mount Mercy
magazine each fall.
- Gifts to
Mount Mercy are tax deductible.
Multiply

If
your company or your spouse's company matches, you may double
the impact of your gift. Secure the matching gift form from your
Human Resources Department and send it to Mount Mercy.
