Charlie
was Mount Mercy's best pitcher in May, going 3-0 with a
1.96 earned run average against two of the top teams in
the Midwest Classic Conference. He went the distance in
all three games, surrendering a total of 17 hits and just
five earned runs while striking out 14 and walking only
three. Charlie allowed one earned run and struck out seven
in an 8-1 victory over Grand View. In the regular season
finale, he gave up just one earned run on two hits in an
8-2 victory over MCC champion William Penn. Charlie defeated
the NAIA 12th-ranked Statesmen again in the NAIA Region
VII Tournament, holding William Penn to three earned runs
on six hits while striking out four in nine innings of work.

Diana
nabbed her second straight athlete of the month award after
winning four titles and being named Women's Most Outstanding
Performer at the 2005 Midwest Classic Conference Outdoor
Track & Field Championships. She led the Mustangs to
their second straight outdoor team championship by winning
the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash and 400 meter dash. Diana's
time in the 100 meter (:12.34) set a conference meet record.
She also anchored Mount Mercy's MCC champion 4x100 meter
relay squad.
