September 2005 Athletes of the Month

Scot Glasford
Junior/Men's Golf
Hometown: Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Scot played nine rounds of golf during the month, averaging 71.89 strokes per round. He won the Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational with a 1-under-par 143 at the two-day event. Scot also carded a 5-under 67 at the St. Ambrose University Invitational, but lost a playoff for medalist honors. At the North Country Classic, he shot a 1-under 71 in the second round and finished 12th with a 148 for the tournament. This season, Scot has also been medalist at the William Penn University Invitational (68-71=139) and tied for second at the Iowa Wesleyan College Invitational (75-75=150).

Laura Salmon
Junior/Women's Golf

Hometown: Winona, Minn.

Laura was the key to Mount Mercy's success during the first month of the season. She led the Mustangs with an 81.55 scoring average and was medalist at the St. Ambrose University Invitational and Loras College Invitational. Laura also placed third at the Cropper-Mount Mercy Invitational, fifth at the Coe College Invitational and ninth at the Wartburg College Invitational.
