Iowa -- A
pair of Mount Mercy College baseball players were honored by the
Midwest Collegiate Conference this spring. Closer Logan Dicus
was a first-team all-conference selection and left fielder Justin
Kleinsmith was named to the MCC Gold Glove team, the league announced.
Dicus, a junior
right-hander, was 1-2 with a 5.03 earned run average in 19 appearances
for the Mustangs. He led the league with nine saves, the third-best
single-season total in school history. It also puts Dicus in fifth
on Mount Mercy's all-time list after just one season with the
Mustangs.
Kleinsmith,
a junior, maintained a .988 fielding percentage with just one
error in 86 chances. He also had three outfield assists this season.
At the plate, Kleinsmith led the Mustangs with 20 stolen bases
and 37 runs scored while batting .294 with three home runs and
18 RBIs.
