Logan Dicus |
CEDAR RAPIDS,
Iowa -- Mount Mercy College closer Logan Dicus, who was a perfect
4-for-4 in save opportunities for the Mustangs, has been named
Midwest Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week for April 28.
Dicus didn't
give up a run and allowed just one hit while striking out six
and walking none in four appearances. The junior right-hander
has nine saves in his first season with the Mustangs. That is
the third-best single-season total in school history and puts
him in fifth on Mount Mercy's all-time list.
Mount Mercy
(16-29, 8-14 MCC) wraps up the regular season with a single, nine-inning
contest with Waldorf College (10-22, 6-16 MCC) on Tuesday at 5:00
p.m. at Ken Charipar Field in Cedar Rapids. The sixth-seeded Mustangs
and seventh-seeded Warriors will meet again on Thursday in the
opening game of the 2008 MCC Baseball Tournament at noon at Riverfront
Stadium in Waterloo, Iowa. An
official tournament bracket will be available on the MCC
Web site upon completion of all regular season games.
