Iowa -- For the second time in three weeks, Mount Mercy College
junior forward Brandon Barnhart has been named Midwest Collegiate
Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 11.
Barnhart averaged
20 points, 11.5 rebounds, two assists, and 1.5 steals while leading
the Mustangs (12-12, 5-7 MCC) to back-to-back victories for the
first time since December. He also shot a scalding 77.8 percent
from the field and 90 percent from the free throw line.
Barnhart posted
his second double-double of the season in an 80-66 win over Waldorf
College on Feb. 6, totaling 19 points, 15 rebounds, three assists,
and three steals. He added 21 points and eight boards in Saturday's
97-82 victory against St. Ambrose University.
This week,
the Mustangs travel to Dubuque, Iowa, on Wednesday to take on
Clarke College (15-11, 8-4 MCC) at 7:30 p.m. at the Kehl Center,
then head home to host Ashford University (14-10, 6-6 MCC) on
Saturday in their final regular season home game at 3:00 p.m.
at Hennessey Recreation Center.
