Mercy's Kilgore, Barnhart earn league honors

Iowa -- Mount
Mercy College senior forward Curtis Kilgore and junior forward
Brandon Barnhart were named to the 2008 Midwest Collegiate Conference
men’s basketball all-conference teams, the league announced.
Kilgore, the
2007 MCC Newcomer of the Year and a first-team all-conference
pick as a junior, landed on the first-team again this season.
He led the Mustangs and was seventh in the MCC in scoring at 14.8
points per game. Kilgore also ranked fifth in the league in rebounding
(6.4 rpg) and field goal percentage (54.3%), both team highs.
Barnhart,
a two-time MCC Player of the Week, was honorable mention all-conference.
He was Mount Mercy’s second-leading scorer at 11.5 points
per contest, which ranked 18th in the league. Barnhart was seventh
in the MCC in rebounding (6.3 rpg) and eighth in field goal percentage
(50.5%) as well.
Clarke College
senior guard DeMonte Bynum, who led the league in scoring (22.0
ppg) and assists (4.69 apg), was named 2008 MCC Player of the
Year. Jon Davison of Clarke was the 2008 MCC Coach of the Year,
while Grand View College junior forward Rohan Greaves garnered
2008 MCC Newcomer of the Year honors.
