Leads Mustangs at Regionals

PEORIA,
Ill. -- Mount Mercy College senior Aaron Tank carded rounds of
71 and 73 to finish runner-up and lead the Mustangs to third place
at the 2005 NAIA Region VII Men's Golf Tournament on Monday and
Tuesday at Weaver Ridge Golf Club.
Tank's 144
two-day total earned him all-region honors and was
one stroke behind medalist and NAIA Region VII Player of the Year
Ben Bradbury of the University of St. Francis (Ill.). Jeremy Danilson
of Grand View College also came in at 144. Three players tied
for fourth place at 145.
The Midwest
Classic Conference claimed the top three spots in the team standings.
St. Ambrose University won the championship with scores of 289
and 291 for a 580 team total. Iowa Wesleyan College was second
(298-289=587), followed by Mount Mercy (294-298=592). Robert Morris
College (Ill.) (298-299=597) of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic
Conference (CCAC) finished fourth, while Grand View (303-297=600)
of the MCC was fifth.
Other Mount
Mercy golfers included juniors Ryan Flugum (71-75=146) and Scot
Glasford (77-70=147) and seniors Brock Ferry (80-80=160) and Jared
Rima (75-86=161).
