Posted 10/17/07 11:19 AM

CLINTON, Iowa -- In a Midwest Collegiate Conference finale on Tuesday, junior forward Nick Miller scored twice and sophomore forward Zlatko Tomic added another as the Mount Mercy College men's soccer team defeated Ashford University, 3-1.

Miller, who leads the Mustangs with 13 goals this season, notched Mount Mercy's first two scores against the Saints. He found the back of the net in the 22nd minute and again in the 48th minute to give the Mustangs a 2-0 lead. After Ashford's Eddie Garza scored in the 53rd minute, Tomic gave Mount Mercy a little breathing room with his fifth goal of the year in the 65th minute.

The Mustangs wrap up the regular season at Knox College (Ill.) on Saturday at noon in Galesburg, Ill, then open the 2007 MCC Men's Soccer Tournament on Monday.
