CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Five members of the Mount Mercy College men's soccer team, including junior forward Nick Miller and sophomore midfielder Zlatko Tomic, garnered all-Midwest Collegiate Conference honors, the league announced Wednesday.

Miller and Tomic were first-team all-conference picks. Miller, who missed the 2006 season while battling cancer, led the Mustangs in scoring with career-highs of 15 goals and seven assists. He was a second-team all-MCC performer as a freshman and landed on the first team as a sophomore. Miller is now the third-leading scorer in school history with 40 career goals and 18 assists.

Tomic, an honorable mention all-conference selection as a freshman, was second on the squad in goals this season with six and also collected five assists. In just two seasons, he stands eighth in school history in goals scored (13) and ninth in points (33).

Mount Mercy sophomore defender Drago Ceranic and freshman midfielder Petar Triva received honorable mention all-conference laurels. Ceranic, also an honorable mention honoree as a freshman, scored one goal and assisted three others while anchoring the Mustang defense this fall. Triva was the team's second-leading scorer, netting six goals to go along with six assists in his first season at Mount Mercy.

Junior midfielder Jeff Wagner represented the Mustangs on the all-conference NAIA Champions of Character team.

St. Ambrose University forward Greg Lehman was the 2007 MCC Player of the Year after leading the Fighting Bees to the regular season league title. Kendrick Tyson, also from St. Ambrose, was named 2007 MCC Newcomer of the Year. Ashford University's Mick Regan was tabbed 2007 MCC Coach of the Year.
