Men's Soccer Coaches

Amir Hadzic
Head Coach
13 years at Mount Mercy College (83-137-14)
Alma Mater: University of Sarajevo
319-363-1323  ext. 1543 ahadzic@mtmercy.edu

Hadzic has helmed the Mount Mercy College men’s soccer program for 13 seasons and is the program’s all-time leader in coaching victories. He reached the 75-win plateau in 2006 and was the 1999 Midwest Classic Conference Coach of the Year after the Mustangs won a school-record 14 games and advanced to the NAIA Region VII Final Four. Mount Mercy finished the 2000 campaign with a 10-8 record, marking the first time in school history that the Mustangs put together back-to-back winning seasons.

In addition to his duties as Mount Mercy’s head coach, Hadzic is head boys’ soccer coach at Cedar Rapids Xavier High School, where he was the 2007 Metro Coach of the Year and led the Saints to a third-place finish at the state tournament. He has also contributed greatly to the growth of soccer in eastern Iowa through the support and development of several soccer programs. Hadzic’s ability to mentor and engage his student-athletes has led many to contribute their skills within their communities. Thirteen of Hadzic’s Mount Mercy players have become head coaches throughout the country, including six in the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area.

J.P. Graham
Assistant Coach
Six years at Mount Mercy College
Alma Mater: Mount Mercy College '98

Graham, a six-year assistant coach at Mount Mercy, was a team captain, all-Midwest Classic Conference and academic all-MCC performer during his playing career for the Mustangs and Head Coach Amir Hadzic.

Graham is a full-time science teacher at Cedar Rapids Washington High School, where he is also head boys' soccer coach and assistant wrestling coach. The Warrior boys' soccer program has flourished since he took over in 2002, reaching the substate finals four times in five years and making two state tournaments while surpassing the 50-win plateau. Graham, who has coached three first-team and two second-team all-staters at Washington, was the 2006 Metro Coach of the Year and the 2007 Mississippi Valley Conference Coach of the Year.
