CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Sheena Canady and Brianna Williams of Kirkwood Community College will continue their collegiate softball careers at Mount Mercy College next year, Mustangs Head Coach Glenn Johnson announced.

Canady, an outfielder from Oelwein, was an all-state performer as a senior at Oelwein High School. She was a five-time all-conference standout and a three-time all-district selection. Canady also earned Oelwein High School’s Outstanding Academic Athlete Award three times.

Williams, a corner infielder from Monona, was an all-state performer at MFL-MarMac. She was a three-time all-conference and all-district player who earned second-team all-state laurels as a junior and first-team all-state recognition as a senior.

Canady and Williams join Becca Smith of Solon and Therese O’Shea of Glenbard South (Ill.) in Mount Mercy’s 2008-09 recruiting class.
