Kirkwood
pair to join Mustang softball program

RAPIDS, Iowa -- Sheena
Canady and Brianna Williams of Kirkwood Community College will
continue their collegiate softball careers at Mount Mercy College
next year, Mustangs Head Coach Glenn Johnson announced.
Canady, an
outfielder from Oelwein, was an all-state performer as a senior
at Oelwein High School. She was a five-time all-conference standout
and a three-time all-district selection. Canady also earned Oelwein
High School’s Outstanding Academic Athlete Award three times.
Williams,
a corner infielder from Monona, was an all-state performer at
MFL-MarMac. She was a three-time all-conference and all-district
player who earned second-team all-state laurels as a junior and
first-team all-state recognition as a senior.
Canady and
Williams join Becca Smith of Solon and Therese O’Shea of
Glenbard South (Ill.) in Mount Mercy’s 2008-09 recruiting
class.
