CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Senior Katie Larsen has been named Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for Feb. 11 after posting the fastest times in the MCC at Friday's NAIA Challenge in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Larsen, who also earned last week's award, placed third in the mile run with a time of 5:34.35 and finished fourth in the 3,000 meter run in 11:04.81 on Friday. Both times are the best in the league during the 2008 indoor season and are second in school history.

Several other Mustangs also produced top-10 finishes at the NAIA Challenge or Mount Mercy all-time top-10 performances. Freshman Erin Behan finished sixth with a school-record and conference-leading time of 19:40.13 in the 5,000 meter run. Sophomore Alyssa Maher raced third in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of :08.89, which is third all-time at Mount Mercy. She also finished sixth in the 200 meter dash in :27.65. Sophomore Chelsea Kvidera was 10th in the 1,000 meter run in 3:27.86, while freshman Kelsey Hansen posted the sixth-best distance in school history in the weight throw with a toss of 30'-10.75".

On the men's side, the 4x800 meter relay team of sophomore Scott Becker, freshmen Justin Waring and Aaron Stephens, and senior Bryan Johnson set a school record with a time of 8:21.02 on Friday. That performance also ranks as the best in the MCC this season. Becker also placed sixth in the 1,000 meter run with the eighth-best time in school history (2:45.00). Senior Dustin Henderson finished sixth in the 400 meter dash in :52.78, while freshman Matt Clarke ran 10th in the mile run in 5:32.26.
