CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Mediapolis High School standout Kaci McLaughlin has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Mount Mercy College, Head Women’s Basketball Coach Shawn Stimmel announced.

McLaughlin, a 5-7 guard, was a unanimous first-team all-South East Iowa Super Conference performer after averaging eight points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals per game for Head Coach Todd Rogers. She also participated in the southeast Iowa all-star game and the Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association (IGCA) all-star game.

“Kaci will be a nice addition to our program,” said Stimmel. “She’s a tough player who plays hard and is also smart player. I’m looking forward to working with her and developing her skills even further.”

McLaughlin, the daughter of Dan and Jackie McLaughlin, is the sixth member of Mount Mercy’s 2008-09 recruiting class. She joins Emily Greiner of Kingsland High School (Minn.), Adrian Nelson of Oelwein High School, Kristi Branham and Rebecca Lampe of Highland High School, and Monticello prep Terri Dirks on the Mustang roster.

Mediapolis High School standout Kaci McLaughlin will compete for the Mount Mercy women's basketball team next season.
