RAPIDS, Iowa -- Emily
Greiner, a 5-6 guard from Kingsland High School in Spring Valley,
Minn., has signed a letter of intent with the Mount Mercy College
women’s basketball program, Head Coach Shawn Stimmel announced.
Greiner, a
three-year varsity starter for Kingsland Head Coach Wayne Hebrink,
finished her high school career with 1,109 points. She averaged
17.5 points, three rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game as a senior
when they Knights went 24-3. Greiner, the daughter of Tom and
Kathy Greiner, was named honorable mention all-state by the Minnesota
Girls’ Basketball Coaches Association and was also an all-Three
Rivers Conference selection for the second year in a row.
“I’m
excited Emily will be joining our program,” said Stimmel.
“She’s a tough player who comes from a very successful
program and she knows how to score. Emily can shoot the ball and
that’s an area we wanted to address in recruiting for next
year.”
Greiner joins
Oelwein High School’s Adrian Nelson, Highland High School
standouts Kristi Branham and Rebecca Lampe, and Monticello prep
Terri Dirks as part of Mount Mercy’s 2008-09 recruiting

Emily Greiner
of Kingsland High School (Minn.) is the fifth member of Mount
Mercy's 2008-09 women's basketball recruiting class.
