Residence
Life Staff
The Residence
Life Office helps shape a living-learning environment that supports
students' academic, personal, and interpersonal growth and development
by:
providing
trained, caring, and competent professional and student staff
effectively
managing housing operations
providing
safe and comfortable facilities that meet student needs
engaging
students in learning opportunities outside the classroom
encouraging
students to accept both the freedom and responsibility inherent
in community living
The Residence Life Staff seeks to challenge students to explore
new ideas, new ways of thinking, and to explore the ways in how
to be a community.

Jenifer
Hanson
Director of Residence Life
and Assistant Dean of Students
Office: 101 McAuley
319-368-6469 bplotz@mtmercy.edu
Jenifer
came to Mount Mercy and to residence life after working
in academic counseling, athletics, and health education
at a large state university. She has lived on campus with
the students for 11 years, currently close-by in campus-owned
housing.
Jenifer enjoys being part of students’ lives and growth
over their tenure at Mount Mercy. She encourages students
to see the out-of-classroom experiences as part of the education
they are receiving: try new things, learn new skills, even
try things they think they won’t like!
A warning - Jenifer loves to play cards, trivia games or
word games and will take all challengers! |
