The Mock Trial
Club is dedicated to improving leadership, teamwork and improvisational
speaking skills. Mock Trial is a hands-on activity that gives
students the chance to portray attorneys and witnesses in a courtroom
setting. The club is given a legal case in September and prepares
legal arguments for both sides. The club then attends tournaments
against teams from other colleges.
Since its
inception in 2000, the Mock Trial Club has nearly doubled in size.
The club participates in many local and regional competitions,
and has won numerous recognitions. Locally, the club has sponsored
Mock Trial presentations at area elementary schools and on campus.
Over 300 colleges
and universities participate in Mock Trial and attend the regional
tournaments. The activity is open to all majors; if you want to
enhance your communications skills, or are interested in an exciting
and fast paced activity, Mock Trial is for you.
