The Student
Success Program is designed to assist academically at-risk student
by providing appropriate academic counseling, advising and life
skill services by facilitating communication between faculty and
students.
Amir Hadzic,
student success coordinator, is committed to a comprehensive program
of life skill building to help students achieve an exceptional
educational experience at Mount Mercy. He also assists students
in planning and developing well-balanced lifestyles, encouraging
growth in decision-making, planning and fulfillment of career
and life goals. This enhances the quality of the student's experience
in the classroom and in the Mount Mercy community.
Goals of the
student success coordinator are to:
- Support
efforts of every student toward intellectual development and
graduation.
- Advise
students how to use academic success as preparation for success
in life.
- Meet the
changing needs of the students.
- Provide
services directed at academic development that night otherwise
not be available through campus or local community resources.
- Develop
an ethos of collegiality and bridge-building between faculty,
students and the student success coordinator.
- Increase
student involvement in the process of being successful.
- Enhance
student satisfaction with achieved goals.
